Battle of the Senses
(Self-portrait)
100x94cm oil on linen
About the artwork:
This self portrait by Lars Vester presents a 360-degree exploration of the tensions and harmonies that embody his identity as an artist, navigating both visual and auditory disciplines. Caught between mediums and wrestling for precious time, Vester delves into an internal battle of the senses, where the illuminated force of sight commands the spotlight, casting shadows over the quieter hidden realm of sound. Yet this conflict ultimately gives way to harmony. His visual art sings with auditory inspiration, while his music is layered with textures, light and shade. Together, they spark a sensory dialogue of human expression.
